Had a terrific weekend: weather was sunny, warm, non humid days, comfortably cool for sleeping nights, great for rest and rejuvenation. Dinner at the Lodge Fri. night, dinner at Phoenix on the bay Sat. night, and dinner with B&D last night. We even got a little kayaking in. I weeded the garden on Fri. After two weeks it needed it greatly.

On with the saga of the Trek:
DAY 2: Sunday 16 July 2006

FR and I, earlier risers both, were up at 0520. We were to be in the lobby for 0600 with all our gear.
Breakfast was ready (buffet) at 0615. KH met us shortly and we were first at the trough;-)
Biscuits & gravey, bacon/sausage, strawberries, melon, pineapple, scrambled eggs, juice and coffee. I found the porridge and bread produts latter, but was too well satisfied to partake.

Departure by tour bus was at 0800. We are going to Bandelier National monument where we will tour an ancient Pueblo village, their cave dwellings, climb to the top of a mesa (for spectacular view of Frijoles canyon), and finish up with a picnic lunch.
