Alone.
Adrift in a sea
of mediocrity.
With trepidation waiting
for someone to come along
To tell me what I've done wrong.
I'd rather be a hermit
Than listen to constant critique.
Storm clouds gather,
Thunder fills my world.
Yet it calms me so.
To be alone with nature
Is preferable.

I love the poem, and the pictures are, as always, breathtaking.

What kind of camera are you using?
I need to go camera shopping.

Very beautiful post, I enjoyed it so much, thank you.

Scarlett & Viaggiatore,

Thanks for the warm fuzzies.

The camera is a Canon PowerShot A640. 10.0 mega pixels
It's my third digital camera. I worked up from 2.0, 4.0, to thhis 10.0. It's an amazing camera, I haven't even scratched the surface of its capabilities.
I used a Canon SLR for years bt the digital is just too easy. ;-)

Tinamtl,

The sound of natur; wind in the trees, thunder, rain tapping the roof, and water washing the sure are calming to me as opposed to the cacophony of man made sounds all blaring for surpremacy and creating discordant jangles.

A beautiful poem Rel...I love nature and all it has to offer. When you stand still and really listen to her, it can fill your soul with peace and gladness. I have a Canon Power Shot A530 5.0 so you're a bit ahead of me! lol This is my second Power Shot and I love them!! xox

Rel -

Enjoyed the piece, and I have expressed to you before my admiration for the top photo... very fine!

On a secondary level, the poem reminded me of submitting a poem to an editor for comment -- then finding a place to cool off after reading such.

You have a very creative streak when it comes to poetry, Rel. I'm hopeless, but I like reading others' poetry...I find people show their feelings more than in prose.

I read you previous post about the fire in the load of hay. Love that motorist's comment...but a pretty scary experience for you.

This is a lovely poem Rel. The discordant cacaphony of noise is one of the reasons that I dislike towns and cities so much. The sounds of Nature are mostly soothing but can also be exhilarating. Your poem says a great deal in few words.

Ah Rel, this touched me so. You could have been writing it while peeking through my window.

I left a comment yesterday, but it must not have stuck. Basically, I just want to be able walk into that top photo.
