Life; Why for

One gets older.
the past piles up like
paid and unpaid bills.
the future,
the end of the future looms...
closer.
the "living in the moment"
concept
becomes increasingly relevant.

Smoke an aromatic cigar,
sip a tawny port.
savor each draught;
imbibe the pleasure of this
instant.
Heady, no past, no next,
only now.

Done,
move on;
live each moment for it's
own enjoyment.
quality over quantity.

Rel,

I hear ya! I really enjoyed this poem. It has a quiet sort of presence that's still heavy. "Tawny port" sounds beautiful and life 'piling up like paid and unpaid bills' is perfect.
