My mom was born in Indiana on 7 sept. 1919. She died in Nov of 2000. She'd have been 87 yesterday had she been alive.

This Poem by James Whitcome Riley is for her.
Happy Birthday ma.

THE RAMBO TREE

When Autumn shakes the
rambo-tree-----
It's a long sweet way across the orchard!---
The bird sings low as the bumblebee---
It's a long, sweet way across the or-
chard!---
The poor shote-pig he says, says he:
"When Autumn shakes the rambo-
tree
There's enough for you and enough
for me."---
It's a long, sweet way across the orchard

For just two truant lads like we,
When Autumn shakes the rambo-tree
There's enough for you and enough
for me---
It's a long, sweet way across the or-
chard.

When Autumn shakes the rambo-
tree---
It's a long, sweet way across the or-
chard!---
The mole digs out to peep and see---
It's a long, sweet way across the or-
chard!---
The dusk sags down, and the moon
swings free,
There's a far, lorn call, "Pig-gee
Pig-gee!"
And two boys--glad enough for
three.---
It's a long, sweet way across the or-
chard.

For just two truant lads like we,
When Autumn shakes the rambo-tree
There's enough for you and enough
for me---
It's a long, sweet way across the or-
chard

Rowan - Happy belated birthday! (mine is Sept. 4.)

Remiman - Your mom has a great smile, and looks like she was a really wonderful woman. Beautiful tribute to her. I am always envious of people who can actually write tributes to their parents.

Rel, your mother is beautiful. You remind me of something my son once said, not about grief, but it makes a good point. We had been visiting my daughter (his sister) on her 30th birthday, and Craig had to leave to go home - he lives in Sydney, I am in Queensland and my daughter is in Adelaide, so it's a rare thing that we get together.

We were sad that he was leaving, and he said, 'hey, don't be sad that I have to leave, be glad that I was here...'

Applied to grief, it is wonderful medicine for the soul, don't you think?

Your trip looks special, hope it went well.
