D., Happy Birthday on your special day!!!!

Drink to me only with thine eyes,
And I will pledge with mine;
Or leave a kiss but in the cup
And I'll not look for wine.
The thirst that from the soul doth rise
Doth ask a drink devine;
But might I of Jove's nectar sup,
I would not change for thine.

I sent thee late a rosey wreath,
Not so much honoring thee
As giving it hope that there
It could not withered be;
But thou thereon didst only breath,
And sent'st it back to me;
Since when it grows, and smells, I swear,
Not of itself but thee!

My Dear, Sweet Husband REL
"Drink to me only with thine eyes" was one of the very first pieces I learned to play on the piano!!-Many years ago, I might add!!!
Your thoughtfulness is overwhelming me today-
Just delivered to our house was a beautiful bouquet of flowers and candles! This on top of the earlier gifts- New perfume, new desk clock.........!And a beautiful card!
You have made my Birthday very special.
Love & kisses
D.

Happy birthday to your lovely D! :)

Beautiful post, rel. I still say that I'm married to the world's biggest romantic fool, but you obviously run a close second. ;)
