One Deep Breath

Mystery (Yugen)

Dormant for awhile
Death yields itself, life reborn.
Unbroken circle

Haiku and photograph - both beautiful and both describe how the circle of life continues. I find it comforting to see on the trees that even while this years leaves are dying and falling to earth, the tightly furled buds protecting next spring's fresh young leaves are already there. I see you found kerrdelune's blog - she has some fabulous posts on there doesn't she?

Maple leaves tumble and fall to earth, transforming themselves gradually into dust and providing the nourishing medium from which the maple keys will arise in springtime as young trees. Here is the circle of life, complete and perfect: beginnings, middles and endings and then beginnings again. The sense of magic and cosmic mystery is perfectly delineated by both image and words - life, death and rebirth all enfolded together, harmoniously, seamlessly and naturally. This is truly lovely!
