Prompt: If these walls could talk....

If these walls could talk
I'd turn away my two ears.
No secrets to hear.

If these walls could talk
Reputations are undone
Gossip serves no one.

If these walls could talk
Would they tell only the truth
Or what we want told?

If these walls could talk
Let them keep silence golden.
What good the tattler?

If these walls could talk
Remember then the adage:
All talk is cheap!

This is great!

Would they tell only the truth
Or what we want told?

And the photo- too- is perfect for the ominous- yet everyday feel of the poem. (and thanks so much for stopping by with a smile today!)

Great take on the prompt, Rel! So true that sometimes silence is golden and talk can be very cheap indeed.

Your son looks like a teddy bear...lot of spunk in those eyes. I very much like the idea of tattling walls... well done!

Any time I've been in a place that holds a lot of history, I've always thought to myself "if only these walls could talk". Imagine what they'd have to say!! Wonderful poem to go with the theme!!
