We're back; sore, blistered, fatigued and supremely satisfied that we did ourselves proud in finishing the "90".
The first day was a crusher: 35 miles in 90 degree F. temperatures. The second day was more moderate temperature wise but we were still recovering from Friday's exhaustion. The third day we were back in top form and even surprised ourselves at how fast we finished. The weather favored our good performance on day three be being cool and rainy for the whole course...just perfect for sustained endurance paddling!
I'll put up some photos and dialog after D. loads the pics on the computer.
Leigh and I are back to work today and were both on call!
Leave for France this upcoming weekend.
And now? To the shower.

Congratulations Rel on paddling so well over such a distance!
Looking forward to the photos!
Congrats on finishing and you didn't get lost :)
that's great. I can't wait to see the photos. Get some rest if you can, it seems like you'll need it.
As long as you're happy and satisfied with the way you both did at the race, that's what's important:-) Really does sound like it was grueling!! Oh boy, you must be so excited that you'll be leaving for France soon....I'm all excited for you! lol xox
Great to have you back, albeit for only a short time, it appears.
Good on you for doing what you did over the weekend. Glad you returned fit and well, although with a couple of sore muscles, no doubt. That hot shower would have been welcome. Either that or a long, hot bath filled with bath salts!
Enjoy your time in France. I look forward to hearing about your travels.
Im glad you had such a good time and did so good!!! A good hot shower sounds perfect! Im looking forward to the pictures!! ( not of the shower....but the trip!) lol
Congratulations on finishing the 90 miler - especially doing it in style. It's really a great achievement - hope those aching muscles are starting to recover. Bet the photos are great.
Congrats on the kayaking/canoeing. Sounds like you had a great time, exhausted or not. Now look at you leaving for yet another adventure. Have a great time and post lots of pics so we can live vicariously through you.
