New/New year.................................................................................Over the Horizon

A new day edges
over
the Horizon

Blind to the other side
Of the horizon,
I stand naked
As the light slowly edges above
Earth's far rim.

I am a book full of
Chapters I have written.
Each new day I choose
Words; new and old, to
Write in the book.

This writer chooses the
Story and the story is
The writer.

The other side of the horizon
holds the mind's imaginings.
On the new page
I will follow my pen,
My tale..

Brilliantly, each day is a fresh page indeed whereupon we write our tale, the story is me and I am the story... beautiful, happy o8 to you and yours, and may your tale take you where you want it to lead. :)

My aunt, a resolute, no-nonsense Adirondack woman, always said, when something bad happens, you just close the door on that chapter and start a new one. This has helped me through many trying times, the new chapter theory. Your poem reminds me of this. Thanks!

I loved the lines: "On the new page/I will follow my pen"--which is (if we're lucky) how it is when we write, those words take on a life of their own and we merely are the instrument to put it on paper!

Very uplifting analogy Rel! I've had no electricity since Friday due to a storm so I'm thrilled you did a combo. ;) XXOO
