sidewalk
twice
Awakening to the sound of pelleted rain peppering my bedroom windows, I thought twice about rousing myself for a morning of invigorating exercise. Better to stay snuggled warmly here for une autre heure or so and catch up on my rest.
Alas, but non, I must be up and attending to my routine or suffer my own mental recriminations for the remainder of the day. My one concession however was to take my regimen into my garage gym rather than to trudge through the 4" accumulation of snow, sleet and freezing rain that had deposited overnight on our sidewalk.

Restez au lit! C'est meilleur!
Tres bien.
the bad gfirl in me wants to say...."pussy"... but i assure you i wont let her......LOL
Wonderful!!! I can feel it -- it's snowing here today and I'm considering walking rather than taking my car -- if only I can "find" the sidewalk!!!
J'ai besoin d'une autre heure, aussi.
Nice job. Been there. Done that.
Mental recriminations can be so restrictive. I suppose because I only spent three years in snow country, walking in it sounds more refreshing to me than a garage.
pelleted rain. nice.
Well you have more willpower than I do..I would have stayed in bed! lol I've just come in from running some errands and the side streets are so bad, covered in ice. NOT a good time for joggers/runners!!! xox
This sounds exactly like central Ohio this morning--although I read and blog a bit before exercising.
mental recrimination generally causes me to turn up the iPod. Nice read!
love this Rel! Amazing how we all see these words differently! I just love that your mental recriminations are keeping you going!
I can ignore mental recriminations, especially in weather such as you describe. However, I did feel very loathe to get up early on the two mornings I worked in the city, but I think that's psychological.
Ah, those terrible, terrible mornings when we'll think up any reason ...
So very true.
I like the images it conjured up in my mind.
walking the sidewalk
Good for you for working out inside where it's warm.
You have more willpower than I. Sigh. I need to take a few lessons I think :)
A couple of times, I blogged that I was going to run a race. That way, ear;u next morning when I didn't want to wake up, the thought of disappointing my blog readers served as my motivation.
I could feel your story. It read smooth & true.
rel, glad to see you are continuing the routine, it's inspiring ....
