"How long's she been here Sgt.?"
"M.E. says three days, lieutenant."
"Cause of death?"
"Strangulation, no sign of a struggle neither, sir."
"Anything else Sgt.?"
"Yes sir, a note in her pocket."
"And!?"
"Well sir, it don't make no sense to me. It talks about a window, and the only window in this here alley is that stained glass with the black bird in it."
"The note.....it said?"
I saw you touching,

Windows can be destructive too...

There's more here than I'm getting, I think, but it's haunting.
Woohoo! I love this - and the artwork is a perfect intro!
i am wondering what exactly they were touching... that made death ever so much more inviting.....
pjd,
Think opening page of a murder mystery, Who was behind the window, what brought the woman to the alley, Why had 3 days elapsed. Where did she belong normally. How old was she, did she have family and on and on...you know the drill. ;)
One clue and one clue only: There is adultry at work here.
rel
Hmmm...intriguing! Love the colloquial language!
Ah adultry! Wonderful Rel and was intriqued by the artwork.
Mystery of suicide or murder...hmmm.
Love ya,
Ah, see, I was wondering about the supernatural with the black bird in the stained glass. I thought perhaps some symbolism of which I was ignorant. I got the murder mystery part. :-)
glad to hear it's adultery and not child
abuse! great take on the prompt Rel! :)
Makes me wonder who did it. Why. What the motive was. And how long it will take them to get caught. Well done.
A whodunit made into an 'is there a who?'
Intriguingly done.
Very clever Rel.
I have enjoyed having a read of your latest writing.
You have been churning out some quality work.
I really enjoyed your 6 word meme too - brilliant.
Rel,
I love coming to your blog cause all your posts keep my interest. This one has the mystery factor the who done it. Look forward to reading more. Take care.
Yes, the note suggests she's witnessed a liaison that the participants thought was unobserved. A neat piece of writing. I agree with chief biscuit.
...Or maybe someone saw her touching someone else and that's why they killed her...
This was so intriguing!!! Mystery and murder it reads like a great start to something bigger or a story all its own just as it is!!! Thanks for sharing it with 3ww!
Great theme, adultery. I think this is one you could open up into something a bit longer, Rel. Nice job. Have a nice night. By the way, I love that picture.
i knew there was adultery involved, your message confirmed it.. superb.
