Pantoum
for
Peace

Their lifestyle, a votive for peace,
Insight, harmony, human rights;
Incipient molder will cease!
A festering splinter delights.

Insight, harmony, human rights;
Distractions to Olympic hype.
A festering splinter delights-
The chance to speak out is now ripe.

Distractions to Olympic hype;
Murders punctuate suppression.
The chance to speak out is now ripe;
World rebels against repression.

Murders punctuate suppression,
Incipient molder will cease.
World rebells against repression.
Their lifestyle a votive for peace.

Excellent use of the words, Rel. I agree with Paisley. I do wish we could all just get along. Fighting is all anyone seems to know these days. This is a really good piece. Have a nice day.

Great work, as usual! Amazing how the more we learn, the less we know. Surely this poem is so appropos to the very basis of peace. Wonderful!

Your words flowed as if effortless, the task before us is not.

Ditto Paisley's words, though.

(The exclamation point unused in the last stanza - I found very effective, Rel.)

When the modern Olympic games started in 1859 they could not possibly have imagined a time when it would become a platform for political demonstrations. What ever happened to the Olympic ideal. Great piece buy the way!

I'm not sure what a pantoum is, but I can appreciate the sentiments of it.

Olympic ideal? What does that mean, now?
