The river is a sheet of mirrored glass enshrouded in fog and I'm going to immerse myself and kayak in it now.........................................

The kayaking sounds wonderful. I bet you can't wait to have your grandbabies around you.
I love your descriptions of the Lawrence (and now that I know which river it is, I take even more delight.)

Just think of your granddaughters' faces and everything will seem much brighter!
