Leaving home, headed for Old Forge and Clark's Beach Motel
End of day one; chocolate milk recovery: Byrne's Dairy
End of day one, Blue Mountain Lake
Race start 5 Sept. 2008; Fri. morn. ~ 0830
Putting in to start day one

Quick put in for paddle wave, day three.
Dinener and refreshments at "The Cellar" in Long Lake... Superb!
Finish day two at the "Crusher" just east of Tupper Lake.
Day two start; rained all day.About half way through, while paddling the rackette river I looked skyward through the drizzle and said mockingly, "is that all you've got?" The sky opened up and the rain came down more intensely. I looked up and said, "that's it, that's all ya got?" Then the deluge came and Leigh said, "will you be quiet, the canoe is filling up with rain water."

mountainmama says...As a 7 year veteran of the 90 miler. This year was fast and spectacular...a bit windy but that's what makes the Adirondacks special. I suggest you guys put some pads on those bucket seats...ouch.
