isn't it amazing that each religious sect thinks it was their 'spiritual leader' that coined the golden rule?? and that of course would be why their sect is superior and the only path to heaven, nirvana, blessing, whatever...
i have lived in 6 different states,, and in each and every state there remain those (that have more often than not never left that state) that are convinced that their state is the only one where in the following phrase applies: "if you want to know what the weather is,, wait ten minutes..." they dont even find humor in my pointing out to them that this happenes everywhere,, not just here...
knowing that as i do,, i still cannot understand the mentality.. be it religion or weather,, there is always a group,, (usually a group that has lived in fear of venturing outside the comfort zone of their own state, country, or religion),, that is convinced they have a corner on the 'right' market.....
i do so want to come back as a more intelligent form of life in my next incarnation.......
i am getting way off the subject here aren't i????
remiman, Will have to come back with more time to read about the Golden Rule - just wanted to say thanks for dropping by novellessness.blogspot.com and your kind remarks. sjw
um. i just read the Jewish and Muslim version of the Golden Rule. have they not read this in Israel and Palestine? if they did, both sides would behave themselves better.
amazing to see all of these similiarities in one place... too bad there isn't enough mutual respect outside of each individual group... if there was and each truly followed what they preach there would be fewer wars and more peace.
Erg. Blogger isn't letting me comment. I was just going to say that it's crazy how much religious oppression there is in the world when we all pretty much believe the same thing.
