My boat and I...enter the lake,
turn as night falls toward the west
where I watch the south star over the mountain,
and the rising mist, hovering over the water,
and the low moon slanting through the trees:
And threr I choose to forget every wordly matter
and be only an old man out fishing.

Wow, outstanding advice! If only we could all live by it. Wouldn't it be a grand world???? Thanks Bob-needed this at the end of this day. Perfect timing!!

My mom had a framed poster of this. I remember having those words in the periphery of our day to day for a very long time. Brings back good memories.
I love the Desiderata...if we could all live our lives by it...what a wonderful world we'd live in.
Beautiful. That's how I feel about running. no matter what mood I'm in when I start my run, I always come back feeling like everything's alright with the world.
