The 1930s are a favourite period of time for me - my mother was born in 1930 and my father was ten years old. Any reading of stuff written at that time gives me the impression that it was kind of a sweet, almost naive time (apart from the depression ... I guess) and until Hitler came along a bit later and upended the whole bowl of cherries. Thanks for this Rel! Loved it - you could even say, it has 'cheered' up my day!
A lot of people are equating our economic hard times with those of the Depression lately. I hope things don't get that bad and that all of our lives are like a bowl of cherries in the near future.
