The sunrise is well above the eastern horizon at the moment (0541) and the river is smoothish; just a hint of rippling. Earlier, when the night was fading away andthe full light of morn had not yet exposed the scene, the river was like a sheet of glass. As soon as the sun appeared, the river claps with joy and so; the ripples.
