Magpie Tales: # 74

Falseface

I dare not face
You alone.

This amalgam face
created to scare
you and company.

Armored, this face
reinforces my courage,

Allowing me to face
My fears.

Falseface ... it's what we called our Halloween masks when we were kids ... I love seeing that word again after all these years.

Beautifully written, Rel.

Such a myriad of "false faces" we employ and manipulate on this journey through life - some the result of kindness, some the result of insecurity, some the result of outright fear, but nevertheless...

Enjoyed this Rel.

It's not always so easy to face our fears. Nice one, Rel.

Could be useful to repel boarders, too! LOL

Reminds me of the masked balls which were all the rage in past times; lots of fear and trepidation on the dancefloor!
