Gongoozler

Sleeping, waiting, waiting.
Patience curled in a ball
Like a fuzzy catapillar.
Warm shades of brown,
rust.....darker.
Peeking out; just checking
Don't want to be bamboozled.

Finding the savory sunshine
Where ever it falls, following
From space to space, opening
Opening, soaking in old Sol's rays.

The internal alarm slowly aware;
Hum, rolling, clicking
Opening, closing. "I'm home."
Up, stretch, down--- walk
Touching, scratching, rubbing.
Pure unadulterated love.

The imagery of a cat came to mind following the sunshine and curling up wherever it finds it.
This poem reads well and the structure is definitely intriguing. Great word too! Sounds like 'gone snoozing'.

Very enjoyable poem to read. I loved the imagery in "Like a fuzzy catapillar." It's so cold here I haven't thought about those in a while.

I often watch my dogs do the same thing. I envy them for it.

Reading you describing the same ting, makes me feel connected. human. as one in experience.

when I read this I thought of a cat....also I love the stained glass in the picture. I took classes a couple years ago and actually made one something like that picture.

Catch,
Diane made this a few years ago and we installed it in the upstairs bath, just out side the computer station. the sun was hitting it enough to catch my attention and make me reach for the camera.

P.S. Siamese cat to be exact.

I presume you have written that lovely poem about a cat?

Just been catching up on your last couple of posts. Thank you for your comments on mine, too, Rel. I always look forward to hearing from you.

Hope you're starting to thaw out now...spring can't be too far away.

Take care

Enjoyed your poem and it made me think of all the cats I've had over the years. The stained glass window is beautiful - D is a talented lady.

Gongoozler was me, staring restlessly trying to find resolve for this prompt. Great word! As an avid scrabble goddess, all new words excite me, even more than the definitions. It’s like finding a new game or puzzle piece. I would dissect the word down to goo, then add the other letters for a bingo (seven letter word) and fifty easy points! Rel, like you I was hesitant to make a blatant fool of myself on this one. I have no problem doing that very nicely without trying! Enjoyable poetry Rel!
I have a passion for colored glass, lucky you to have that lovely stained glass in your home! Kudos to your talented lady!

Peace Giggles

I think you got gongoozler down pat! A sort of bamboozled waking up from a long winter ... ? Or nap.

At first, I thought gongoozler was made up. What a great word. Love the images. My menagerie does the same.

Gongoozler is a great name. I like the repetition in your poem, and this line I like especially: "Patience curled in a ball". A calm moment captured in a poem.
