# 67 Slippery
0530 Sunday morning, I sit at the dining table sipping last night's coffee rewarmed in the microwave. Peering out through the curtained window, the glassy surface of the river beckons to me; "slide your kayak into me and feel the pleasant relaxation float up into your body and mind."
The lustrous surface changes; pocked by raindrops.
Birds at the feeder, wet, sleek, and unfazed by the rain, pick out their favorite breakfast bites.
Picnic tables, and docks glisten with their wetness, sleek and shiny.
Slippery when wet!
Rain clouds have persisted over us the entire weekend, bringing that slow, steady gentle rain that soaks the ground and feeds the vegetation. In contrast, the drizzle dampened the hope of "Good Luck" to many 07/07/07 weddings. One such wedding party was trying to get their wedding photos taken out on the end of the neighbors dock in between showers. If not a lucky day, then a memorable one. They stepped carefully on the slippery surface to avoid greater wetness awaiting below.
